I recently relocated to beautiful Virginia from Wellington FL, after spending four years in England. In my studies at Colorado State and at the University of Colorado in Boulder I received two bachelors degrees in integrative physiology and neural science. I am also certified as a veterinary assistant.
During my time at Colorado State University, I competed on the intercollegiate show jumping team. I was accepted to veterinary school in 2009, six months before receiving my Masters degree from the University of Colorado in Boulder. At the same time, I received a once in a lifetime offer to travel and train at the Olympic level, and I decided to follow my dreams and accepted the once in a lifetime offer.....
Upon the completion of the job, I remained in the UK to further my career with eventing. Whilst in the UK I was certified by the British Horse Society in Riding and Road Safety, completed my PTT instructor certification and became a certified Pony Club Instructor for the North Norfolk Pony Club. I split my remaining time instructing three day eventing at Blackwater Farm in Norfolk and giving guest lectures at Easton College. The lectures were on the topic of working as a professional in the equine industry. In addition to this, I set up and ran a horse boarding facility at Weston Hall Estate, also in Norfolk. This eventually lead to my starting up a horse blanket washing company called Rapid Rugs. I later sold the company just before I returned to the US.
On multiple occasions I was hired as a Jockey for British Eventing (BE) as well as British Show Jumping (BSJA). At Blackwater Farm in Norfolk I was Chief Cross country steward for all BE certified events. I competed with my own horse, Opal, in BE and BSJA. During the summer of 2010, I managed a 12-horse facility for a private client for 6 months. In 2011, I became a Kerrits ambassador to represent my favorite brand during competitions.
My certifications through the British Horse Society (BHS) in Riding and Road Safety, and Protecting and Safeguarding Children aided me while instructing dressage for the North Norfolk Pony Club in UK. I am currently a playing member of the United States Polo Association (USPA). I play in women's tournaments (WCT) in Wellington and Virginia. Lastly, I have been a USEA/ USEF member since 1994.
My current and future desire is to have a life-long carreer working in a field that brings me challenges, excitement and joy.
